Cultural Specialist Thomas Talboy Leads
Tours through Europe
Founder of Ubiquity International Enjoys Sharing
Travel Experiences
Piedmont, CA – February 21, 2006 – Thomas Talboy likes
to share his knowledge with others. As a lifelong learner, educator,
lawyer and traveler, he created a platform for doing just that
when in 2004 he founded Ubiquity International, the premier provider
of unique cultural, historical and educational travel experiences
throughout the world.
“The world offers so many exciting opportunities,” said
Talboy, who began combining his book smarts with his hands-on travel
during his first trip to Europe at the age of 18. “The more
you explore different cultures, the more you want to learn. Knowledge
is limitless.”
The name Ubiquity International was selected by Talboy from the
Latin word “ubique,” meaning everywhere, and that’s
exactly the idea he wanted to convey. Ubiquity International will
soon be offering tours everywhere in the world.
Specialized itineraries are currently available to destinations
in Italy, France, Greece, Peru, Spain and Ireland. Tours are led
by Cultural Specialists who share their knowledge about the language,
art, history and culture of the destinations, offering travelers
a unique perspective into the sites and cities visited.
It doesn’t stop there. Talboy, who has a PhD in Classics
from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a master’s degree
in both Greek Drama and Ancient History, also offers travel and
destination reading suggestions on the Ubiquity International website, www.ubiquityinternational.com.
He recently launched a new feature, Dr. Tom’s Traveling News
and Trivia, to engage web-savvy travelers. Available as a newsfeed,
Talboy provides commentary on cultural news headlines, sharing
his knowledge and insight on a variety of topics.
Talboy is an author and contributing editor of Sophocles:
Fragmentary Plays and he is currently writing a Rome destination
guide for travelers. He teaches language courses at private schools
in the Bay Area and Monterey. Talboy is a sought-after speaker
for his specialization in language, art, history and culture
of many European destinations, in particular Italy and Greece.
Talboy is involved with Classical and Medieval theater productions,
is an active member of the San Francisco Commonwealth Club and
the American Philological Association, among others. He is a member
of the Board of Directors for the International Language and Culture
Foundation and the Board of Advisors for the Hellenic Cultural
Institute, Central Coast California. In addition to sharing
his knowledge and experience with individuals and families as they
travel abroad, Talboy enjoys reading historical fiction and cooking
a variety of international cuisines. He is a professionally certified
Destination Specialist in both Italy and European Culture & Heritage,
and is a member of the American Society of Travel Agents.
